The program begins with teacher training for the classroom study of philanthropy/ volunteerism either at one of the trainings listed or possibly at your school for more than ten teachers. Then YIP volunteers will speak to your students and be available to serve as resources to answer questions and help identify possibilities for projects and local organizations to support. At the end of the year, the YIP program will recognize your efforts and your students’ accomplishments.

Welcome to the fourteenth annual nationally acclaimed "Together We Can Make A Difference" Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Program. This award-winning program recognizes and encourages the impact New Jersey educators and children can have on the quality of American life and our future. YIP builds civic engagement and teaches an American tradition that has made our country great; giving time, talent and/or treasure for the common good. Participation is recognized by the NJ Department of Education and relates to New Jersey's Core Curriculum Standards.

Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) has introduced the concept of giving for the common good to 43,000 students and their teachers. Students, in turn, have awakened to the needs of others and their own potential to make a difference in their communities.

We invite your class(es) to learn about the tremendous impact the philanthropic tradition has on American life and to plan and carry out as a class, or in small groups, an activity, or activities, throughout the school year, for the public good.
