Project possibilities are endless. We invite your creativity. In the past, students:
- Worked with senior citizens, hospital patients and and other health organizations;
- Collected goods, raised money or awareness for local food banks, homeless shelters, in response to natural disasters and in the aftermath of September 11;
- Made quilts for seniors, women’s shelters and babies with AIDS, created art to share and supported the arts;
- Worked on town clean-ups and environmental projects;
- Wrote and illustrated books and made tapes and flash cards for children in need;
- Wrote produced and staged an opera as a fund raiser.

- Attend an Orientation. Call to find scheduled sites near you, or request an in service orientation at your school if ten or more teachers will participate.
- Arrange a date for a YIP speaker to visit your classroom.
- Help your students choose projects/activities that will benefit a group of people (or animals) in your local community or in our global community.
- Check in with YIP in December, March and May with updates on your project(s) and provide lists of student names in April for their personalized certificates.
- Submit final report form and student art and comments by Friday, May 23, 2008.
