Orientation sessions eligible for NJ- DOE Professional Improvement Program
(PIP) hours to help you prepare to teach philanthropy, provide you with an opportunity
to meet nonprofit leaders and brainstorm with teachers from across the state.
The sessions are from 8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. For more information, please call 1-866-947-4357 or register online at www.yipweb.org. The cost for the session is $50.00 and includes breakfast, lunch and a 90+ page Teacher Resouce Guide.
SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE. - In-Service Orientation at schools with 15 or more registered teachers.
- NJ - DOE Professional Improvement Program (PIP) hours for the Orientation and continuing work on the Program.
- Credits by the Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute of NJ, a project of the Center for Public Service at Seton Hall University, upon completion of a CEU verification form and payment of a $15 processing fee sent directly to Seton Hall University. Call YIP for contact information.
- A Teacher Resource Guide on Philanthropy that includes: A short history of philanthropy in America, ideas for classroom activities and projects that relate to the New Jersey Core Curriculum, lists of philanthropic organizations in your area, bibliographies for teachers and students and much more.
- Support by phone, fax, mail and/or e-mail.
- Speakers that come to your classroom.
- A web site with on-line registration.
- Year-end recognition for you and your students with personalized Certificates of Recognition, a gift for the school library and more, if you submit BOTH a one page final report AND your students' creative expressions of their experience of philanthropy.
